Vintage is sustainable

Vintage is sustainable

The other day I stumbled across a post on Facebook where someone asked for advice on how to re-cover an old chair. Another woman, smiling on her profile picture in front of a beautiful natural landscape with fantastic waterfalls, commented on this with “It's not worth it, better buy a new one. Then I actually started a friendly discussion with her, which unfortunately ended in a “none of your business”. Uh no. Out of sight, out of mind! Where do these immeasurable mountains of stuff end up that we produce and throw away? Or the many things from the bulky waste, all the pressed cardboard furniture model "living room wall, 125 euros" - that can't even get through the move to the next room? Much of our garbage ends up shredded in third world countries such as Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam or in Eastern Europe, where most of it ends up in landfills. In short: we produced goods there cheaply, dragged them here, ...

Looking to the future with nostalgia

Looking to the future with nostalgia

While technical progress is literally catapulting us into the future thanks to digitization, our own home is being overwhelmed by a wave of nostalgia. As our mothers said: It will all come back ... and so you can now see certain colors, shapes and textures everywhere, as we know them from before. Orange, red, certain shades of green, wicker trays, brass - the beautiful, tough brass - wood tones that we frowned upon a few years ago - or even disposed of. The wild, creative ceramics of the 70s alone are so inspiring, original and full of joie de vivre. Each individual part can be perfectly combined with simple living elements and simply brings a little life into the home. The funny thing is that you experience this constant change in taste in yourself and now jump back to the shape and color world from back then, yes, there is even a need to surround yourself with these colors. So mom had ...

New times require new paths

New times require new paths

After almost 20 years of event agency with many great projects, a path is now going in a different direction. Or let's put it another way: We build on experiences, rethink and create a new concept from the existing ingredients and experiences. It has always been a USP of Bolz Event to create special emphasis on scenes, atmosphere and special memories. Many events were clearly geared towards lavish social media content. We still do that! The focus is now on the topic of vintage: old things whose value is characterized by rarity, special design, traces of work and patina. We find unique pieces, old material, backgrounds for foodies and photographers, photoprops etc. But a home can also or especially be individual: the high-quality, heavy old cast iron pot that radiates a story, the iconic vase from the 70s, the table made of old planks - just things that you don't just do with the usual trading companies ...

Online wine tasting - the self-test

Online wine tasting - the self-test

Because it was so nice, I have to make you happy again with a contribution on the subject of wine. The subject of wine is as old as time, and each of us has some nice memories of wine tastings and evenings together. The crisis is also hitting the winemakers hard, because without wine festivals and other face-to-face events there is no way of selling wines. The restaurateurs are not really good customers either. The increased per capita alcohol consumption due to the national camp crash is not of much use either. The best way to enjoy wine is with friends and colleagues, which we are currently not allowed to do and which can lead to social withdrawal symptoms. But my dear colleague Ellen Kamrad, a creative event manager from Cologne, has come up with something so that we can continue to enjoy delicious drops together - because the people of Cologne are not that easy to shake off when it comes to having fun together ...
